Greetings!

Since bringing the Account Center live it has come to our attention that some Target Pre-Order customers are encountering errors when attempting to register their keys.

We have discovered that due to mis-printing the letter “Q” is displaying as an “O”. Pre-Order keys will never contain “O” or “0″. Be sure that in any scenario where there appears to be an O that you enter “Q” instead.

We apologize for this inconvenience. Thank you!

Author’s Comment: This is actually happening a lot! Happened to a few people I know already

Author’s Comment: I always thought they go gold when they announce the release date, I guess not. Anybody know if a game can ever become silver, or bronze?…

The Warhammer Online closed beta “preview weekend” has come to an end today. All servers are shut and many of you are eagerly awaiting to get in for the open beta which is schedule to open shortly. We’ve had a chance here at Warhammer Geek to play for the past week or two and we have a lot to say about it (listen in for the podcast which should be available soon(tm)). The wiki is starting to shape up and we have been collecting information already to plug into there and update.

For those of you who haven’t played yet, be impressed. This game is all around one of the best titles the staff here as played and many of us haven’t even got into the Tier 3 area’s yet. The public quest system is better than we expected as the quests are not as isolated as you may have thought.

I won’t spoil the fun though, make sure to get out there and try the game before it launches. If you do not have a pre-order key and you live in the United States, Target super markets are selling the open beta key’s (without having to pre-order the game) for 99 cents.

New screenshots will be uploaded shortly however the wiki will be more populated with them on the individual pages.

The NDA for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is now down. This will let us express ourselves a bit more with our content and will allow us now to fill in the empty gaps on the wiki which we have been waiting to do for the last few months.

Stay tuned, make an account on our wiki, and fill in what you see fit! It’s all open now!

Recently posted on the VN Boards, Mark Jacobs clarifies Server Ruleset changes in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. Read Mark’s original post here.

Eurogamer recently published a pretty interesting preview about the overall gameplay experience in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. Read the full preview here.

All of this is nice to see. A relief, even. Months from release, Warhammer Online can already confidently stand alongside WOW and LOTRO in an MMO beauty pageant, and impress the judges with its grace and deportment.

10TonHammer’s own Josh Hoskin went at this year’s San Diego Comic Con where he had a chance to talk and clarifiy some details with Associate Producer, Josh Drescher about the major career & cities drop-out announcements. You can watch the whole interview here.

EDIT:

Here’s Part Two of the interview where Josh gets into detail about PvE and RvR. You can watch the interview here.

This important news bit came from the guys at VaultNetwork, who not only did a cool preview of the current state of the WAR Guild BETA at E3 2008, but found out some interesting tidbits of WAR goodness from Adam Gershwitz himself. However, the last line of the interview will get most of you really excited.

As our preview came to a close we were told that the NDA is on its last leg and should be coming down in only a few weeks. This news, along with all that we saw in our preview, confirms that we have indeed entered into the Age of Reckoning.

In what is the biggest announcement made by Mythic Entertainment this year, Mark Jacobs tells MMORPG.com why four careers and capital cities will be missing from the release of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.

“We decided to focus our energies on two capital cities; one for Order and one for Destruction, and make them fabulous, said Jacobs. “Not good, not great, but fabulous.”
“We wanted to make our Capital Cities the best cities in any MMO. We think we’re doing that, but it came at a price and that price is that the other cities aren’t going in the game right now.”

“Four of the classes that we’ve been working on, we just couldn’t get great,” he continued. “We looked at them and we said these careers are just not great… and we tried, and they weren’t coming out well.”

A press release has been issued by Mythic on BusinessWire.com, stating that Guild BETA has begun. Oh the joy!

Recently, EA Mythic have had their rights from EA reclaimed and now they are once again named Mythic Entertainment. The following article came from MMORPG.com.

“We are going back to Mythic Entertainment,” said Mark Jacobs, the VP and General Manager of EA Mythic. “I’ve always been a believer of separate branding”

p.s This had my attention on the whole article though.

While this is the end of the announcements for tonight, log on to MMORPG.com tomorrow for a report on the rest of that interview that includes three other exclusive announcements specifically addressing Warhammer Online.

Waaagh! has revealed the next interview in the Imperial Inquisition series with Tony “RadarX” Jones from Ten Ton Hammer. Learn about his MMO experiences and his role as a Community Manager.

WAAAGH!: Tell us a bit about yourself — your handle/screen name/real name, age, real life occupation, your previous MMO experience, and your play style.

RADARX: My name is Tony Jones and I currently use the handle RadarX which I’ve had since the BBS days of yore. I’m currently a Community Manager at the Ten Ton Hammer network where over the years I’ve been involved with a number of our sites including EverQuest 2, Lord of the Rings Online, and Tabula Rasa.

My MMO game experience goes back to probably Ultima Online, but my first true love was the widely known EverQuest which I played for roughly a year and a half. I’ll leave out what I’ve played and just try and hit the most influential games for brevity. From EverQuest there I bounced around a few games but spent some time in Dark Ages of Camelot and Star Wars Galaxies before settling in EverQuest 2 for long while. After a few years there I tried played World of Warcraft on and off, Lord of the Rings Online for a few months, and then landed at Tabula Rasa for a bit…

Read more about RadarX.

Author’s Comment: RadarX is a Florida boy FYI, like me! Just giving you all the facts in case you wanted to know.

Justin Webb’s YouTube video blog has been updated with two new interesting videos about Cosplaying and WAR.

Part 1

Part 2

Go Go Angie!

Fact. EA Mythic has announced today that WAR will also ship in Russia with a very own localised version. The WAR Russian community now have the opportunity to enjoy WAR in their native language. The official press release can be read here.
